Introduction to Me

I am new to the world of blogging, but I thought that it was appropriate to this new season in my life.  Most people would wonder what has changed.  I am still married to my husband. (And yes this is a good thing, even on the days that I want to strangle him.)  I still have three wonderful and exasperating (aren't they all) children.  But in the past year I have started my own business and have just recently started homeschooling my children, as well as moving out of Michigan for my husband's job.  Needless to say, both of these changes are definitely making their own impact in my life.

I have always (as long as I can remember)  had more ideas than I could ever have put onto paper or into reality.  I have so many hobbies that anytime I bring home something that looks like a new hobby my husband just groans.  He really is very supportive, but he does like to have at least a little of my time each day.  ;)  I don't always have good ideas and can't always make them work, but at least my brain does still work, I think, most days.

I am a firm believer in financial and environmental responsibility and when I can find something that I can recycle or reuse/reinvent I enjoy the process.  I am getting ready to refinish a table for our dining room (blog will follow soon).  It is a wonderful thing to have ideas although sometimes I "bite off" more than I can handle.  For instance the chicken coop that "I" built for my Mom.  (My husband helped a LOT!)  I grew up gardening and using what was available, and I am thrilled to be back in the south where there is less urban and more rural land usage.  It makes a wonderful learning experience for my three children.  For instance, all of the grandkids are fascinated by my parents' chicken flock.

I started my Etsy shop shortly after my husband was laid off for the umpteenth time, and after he had shoulder surgery and we knew he wouldn't be able to work for a little while.  I have been told for years that I should sell the things that I make, but I didn't know of a place that was workable for me.   I found Etsy through a friend and did the research and decided that it would work for me.  I have since had several ideas that I have tried and scrapped, but that is after all how things go.  Although I don't have as much time to increase my inventory as I would like right now, I know that when the time is right everything will fall in place.  In the mean time I am trying to get settled into a new house and a school routine.

I have some great ideas for simple products that won't break the bank, but will be handmade for those who want something special. These are also great for those who are on a tight budget, for a special event, or for a special someone.  Also, just so you know, I will periodically put coupon codes on this blog for my readers.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me.  Feel free to comment so I can learn about you.

Have a blessed day and don't give up on your dreams.
